Wedding & Engagement Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is your wedding photography style?

Alternative Wedding London - Bride and Groom at their wedding reception

I love visual storytelling, and throughout the day I will be collecting memories, happy faces, genuine emotions and wedding details, to create a beautiful narrative of your fairytale from beginning to the end. I use a blend of people portraiture (bright, colourful, exciting) - and an informal, natural approach (fun and relaxed) specific to all my event photography. Couple portraits are my absolute favourites, but equally I focus on candid captures of your family and wedding guests enjoying the big moments of the day.

2. Do you work with a second photographer?

Yes, I do. Except for mid-week weddings, all my packages include a second shooter. I work with my husband Adi - the analytical & gear-obsessed half of our team - so that together we provide a much better coverage of your event. I (Andreea) will be spending time with the bride to capture the early getting-ready preparations, while Adi will be getting shots of the groom and his groomsmen. As the wedding unfolds, you'll often get your moments documented from two different angles, or if you have lots of guests, better chances to get them all in your wedding photos.

3. How many photographs can we expect to receive?

For each wedding we take an unlimited number of photos, but the final delivery varies depending on the size of your wedding, complexity of details, number of guests, your package, etc. The quirkier, more colourful, more distinctive, the better. Approximately 300 images is the average for our half-day weddings, so it's only up from there if you’re booking a full day coverage.

4. How soon will I receive my photos?

The full gallery is usually ready within 5-6 weeks. As I personally select and edit all your images (no outsourcing of any kind), I put extra effort in delivering professional looking photographs with individual post-processing. Once given access to your private online album, you can then start choosing your favourites to be transformed into beautiful heirlooms.

4. Do you offer albums, prints and other photo products?

Oh yes, and they are fabulous! All products have been carefully selected from the best vendors in the industry. As you browse our wedding packages you'll see some goodies are already included as bonus bundles, where as our Products page can give you an idea of what individual items you can order for yourself and/or your loved ones.

5. Can we print and share or images?

You can print and share your photos as much as you like. Although I retain the copyright as the creator of the images, this doesn't affect your right to use them - you'll be provided with a high resolution set for printing & a web resolution set for social media & emailing.

6. Can we meet before the wedding day?

Engagement Photoshoot London - Couple laughing and enjoying their outdoor session

Certainly, all my packages include a wedding consultation session. For London based couples I am happy to meet in person for a coffee and a chat. Otherwise if time constraints or distance don't allow it, we can always do a Zoom / Skype virtual meet.

7. Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, my engagement / pre-wedding / couples photoshoots are available year round and these can be booked independently. Prices start at £495 for London engagement packages and some of our wedding packages include these sessions for free. Alternatively your can book one to see if we're a good match and receive a cool £100 off if & when you decide to book your wedding photography with us.

Are you already thinking of some lovely Save the Date cards, a signing book for your wedding guests' kind wishes, or even a dedicated wedding web page? This is the perfect opportunity to get those images, have some fun and get to know each other too!

8. What about Trash the Dress photoshoots?

Trash the Dress or post-wedding photos are a joy to photograph and we offer these separate photo sessions throughout the year. They can be booked soon after the wedding for some cool Thank You cards or even later on if you're thinking of some neat art to adorn your walls. And since the 'trashing' of the dress is optional, we'd rather call these packages Rock the Frock / Love the Dress because that's what they are ultimately - just another chance to look fabulous in your wedding outfits. While feeling happily married and free as a bird, and having the time or your life!

Alternative Wedding London - Trash the Dress Brighton

Just like the engagement photoshoots, Trash the Dress sessions in London are priced from £450, but we can travel anywhere you like for the day, from a river bank to an awesome hill top, even jump on the train to Paris for that matter.

9. Do you have insurance?

Absolutely. Your wedding photography is in good hands with me as I have full insurance including public liability, indemnity and all my equipment. I also back up my images rigorously, and when ready I also provide clients with a free password-protected gallery for viewing and sharing.

10. What's involved in the booking process?

Soon after our meet up, phone/video call I will be sending you the wedding contract set-up for online signing. In order to secure your date, a £450 deposit is required in advance (by bank transfer preferably), while the remaining balance is due 1 month prior to the wedding date.

11. How far in advance should we book you?

As soon as you set a date and book a venue it's advisable to get in touch to ensure availability for your chosen day. Once reserved I am all yours for the day - that's one less thing to worry about, and some great value prices locked down as well!

12. Should we provide a shot list?

Alternative Wedding London - Couple posing for a relaxed portrait in the park

Not unless there are some images you really want that are quite unusual, group photos with certain people etc. Otherwise we're happy to follow the love and let the story unfold.

13. Do you do any formally set-up shots, such as family and group photos?

We are here to offer you the best wedding memories possible. If family & group shots are important to you we can certainly do a few posed ones of your wedding entourage before moving on to the couple photos between the ceremony and reception. We recommend allowing about 20-30 minute for the group/family portraits and some 30-40 minutes for the bridal couple shots.

14. When do you take a break? Do you need to be fed?

When covering whole day weddings we take a couple of short breaks to rest & recharge our batteries (literally and figuratively). The main one is while the food is served, as often it's not the look your wedding guests would prefer :)

Although not a contract requirement, we find that lots of couples provide food for their photographers. A bar meal or similar are very much appreciated as this keeps our energy level up, and doesn't make us miss any of the action.

15. Do you cover areas outside of London?

Yes we do. We offer alternative wedding photography, engagement photos & love-the-dress sessions, wedding anniversary photoshoots and all sorts of celebrations of love in London, Surrey, Hampshire, Essex, Kent, Berkshire, Herfordshire, Buckinghamshire etc. There is a small surcharge for travel outside the capital, but this is agreed in advance with our couples based on the exact location of the event.

16. Are you willing to travel internationally?

Actually not just willing, but absolutely thrilled to cover weddings internationally. Not only we speak or converse in 6-7 European languages, but we get a kick out of every experience, capturing events with an authentic local flavour. This is why we don't charge any more than for UK weddings. The only extras are the cost of travel (flights/ferry/Eurostar) and 1-2 nights' accommodation depending on the wedding schedule.

17. Why should we book you?

Because you like our vibrant style and photos; because we're nice, friendly and reliable; because we're offering some sweet, sweet deals; because we're passionate and enthusiastic, and you like that rock 'n roll vibe of our photography!

18. What do the weekend packages include?

Starting at only £1,295, all our weekend wedding packages offer: a pre-wedding consultation; creative coverage of your wedding day; from 300+ digital images professionally edited; personalised USB stick of memories & a beautiful display box to match; private online gallery for you, family and friends to view & share. For the full day wedding packages a second photographer can be booked separately as well.
