Walthamstow Garden Party (Jul 2016)

July 2016, when summer descended upon its London fans...

What better reason to celebrate life with family, friends, music & good food than a sunny weekend in the capital, announcing the return of hot weather? And if you add a free, fun-filled, eclectic festival like Walthamstow Garden Party - it sounds just irresistible!

Marking the festival's third year in Lloyd Park in east London, 2016's programme got even bigger and better according to its organisers, with an exciting mix of local and international talent, showcasing the communities and creativity of Waltham Forest. From music to theatre to a pop-up cinema, a craft and design market, story-tellling, poetry and inviting food stalls - there were photo opportunities galore! Adults, teens and little ones - all got a chance to enjoy something fun outdoors, making the most of the park's beautiful surroundings.

Sponsored by Arts Council England and with Barbican Centre and Create as official partners, the audiences were almost guaranteed a great weekend out. And as a London photographer, lover of alternative crowds and a festival enthusiast, I absolutely had to share the story with my lenses immersed in event photography
